The team had a historic season capped by the second Group state championship for the program and a 9th place finish in the Meet of Champions. Other season highlights include winning their heat at the Shore Coaches meet for the second straight year, a North 2 Sectional title, selection as the UCIAC Boys cross country team of the year, John Cho, Jackson Levine and Nate Roberts second team All-County and setting numerous school course records, both team and individual, at Cherokee, Oak Ridge and Warinanco courses. Coach Neal Sharma was named NJ.com’s 2022 Coach of the Year.
Both the freshmen and junior varsity cross country teams excelled in their final championship meets this fall. The Freshman captured the county crown and finished 5th overall at the Freshman state championship meet and the junior varsity took 2nd at the country meet and 4th at the JV State championship earlier. With the current strength of the program, and theses performances, the future is rock solid for Summit boys cross country.
