Do you know what question our SHS Sailors get most often? You guys have a sailing team at Summit High School? The answer is, YES, WE DO!! And, the 14 Sailors who represented the SHS Sailing Team this Fall delivered a memorable season, competing in 5 New Jersey Interscholastic Sailing Association (NJISA) regattas and 2 Mid-Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association (MASSA) regattas. Every sailor on our team competed in at least 1 regatta during the fall season, a great accomplishment particularly for our 5 freshmen sailors. Among the team’s best results this season were a 3 rd out of 17 boats at the NJISA BBYRA Invitational Regatta, a 4 th out of 17 boats at the NJISA Sailfest Regatta, and a 4 th out of 8 boats at the MASSA Catholic Cup Regatta. At the season-ending banquet for the Raritan Bay Scholastic Sailing Foundation, senior Pilar Cundey was named Female Sailor of the Year and sophomore Michael Creel was named Most Improved Sailor. Special thanks to our Captain, junior Lauren Murray, who has gone above and beyond to create a strong, inclusive team culture.
