Congratulations to our SHS Sailing Team on a successful start to the spring season at yesterday’s NJISA Icebreaker Regatta at Toms River Yacht Club. It was a chilly, grey day that didn’t really feel much like spring at times. The fleet of 16 boats from across NJ and Pennsylvania completed 7 races on the day in very puffy conditions with winds of 10-12 MPH.

Kudos to our Summit 1 boat of Pilar Cundey, Grace Penque, Lauren Murray and Dara Greengrass for finishing 4th overall including a 1st place finish for Pilar and Grace in the first race of the season! Both our A fleet (Pilar, Grace) and B fleet (Lauren, Dara) teams were consistently at the top of the pack all day. Great work!

Our Summit 2 boat of Michael Creel, Emma Gumny, Elena Carranza, Peter Huntley-Robertson, Nikhil Ray, and Julia Gumny battled hard all day, delivering solid results and gaining valuable experience out on the racecourse. Way to go, Hilltoppers!
